WORLD DAY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE 2021

Today and February 20 of every year, the whole world celebrates the World Day of Social Justice.

The theme of the World Day of Social Justice 2021: A Call for Social Justice in the Digital Economy.

The digital economy is transforming the world of work. The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have led to remote working systems and allowed for the continuance of many business activities thus strengthening the growth and impact of the digital economy.

The commemoration of this year supports efforts by the international community to look for solutions for achieving sustainable development, poverty eradication, the promotion of full employment and decent work, universal social protection, gender equality and access to social well-being and justice for all.

There is a clarion call to raise a voice against social injustice and to remove barriers regarding gender, race, ethnicity and all forms of discrimination.

Always remember that “where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe.” -Frederick Douglass
